Dr. Hernandez received his Bachelor's degree in biochemistry but his interest in how the brain works to guide behavior led him to obtain his Ph.D. in neuroscience from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. He completed his post-doctoral training at the University of Pennsylvania where he focused on understanding learning and memory functions as they relate to aging, stress, addiction, social behavior and other cognitive processes. He enjoys working with seniors with dementia, medical writing, wildlife rehabilitation, and all things outdoors.
